To Eat
& To Do

Santa Barbara is a city on the central California coast, with the Santa Ynez Mountains as dramatic backdrop. Downtown, Mediterranean-style white stucco buildings with red-tile roofs reflect the city’s Spanish colonial heritage. Upscale boutiques and restaurants offering local wines and seasonal fare line State Street. On a nearby hill, Mission Santa Barbara, founded in 1786, houses Franciscan friars and a museum.

To Do!

URBAN WINE TRAIL

The city’s famed Urban Wine Trail stretches across two distinct downtown neighborhoods, each offering its own unique wine and dining, so relax (this is a vacation after all), grab some comfortable shoes and let your palate lead the way for a few days of delicious experiences.

SANTA BARBARA MISSION

Experience Old Mission Santa Barbara
Situated on 15 acres overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the Mission grounds include the beautiful Mission Church, historic cemetery and mausoleum, a nine-room museum of historical artwork and artifacts, and multiple lush gardens.
Stretching from San Diego to Sonoma, the 21 missions of Alta California are storied reminders of California and our nation's past. Few regions of the world have such a physical, visual timeline of a nation's growth and development.

In 1769, under order of the Spanish king, sea and land expeditions departed Mexico for California, meeting in San Diego where the first fort and mission were established to serve as frontier outposts. The King sent military troops and Franciscan missionaries to the new land to colonize the territory and convert its Indian inhabitants to Christianity.
Over 54 years, four forts, or presidios, and twenty-one missions were founded along the California coast. Some of these sites eventually evolved into the state's major cities, including San Diego, Santa Barbara, San Jose and San Francisco.

Self-guided tours include an audio tour available in English, Spanish, French, German, Chinese, and Korean.
One-hour guided tours of the Mission are available most Fridays at 12:30 pm, Saturdays at 10:30 am, and Sundays at 12:30 pm.

LUCKY'S

Lucky’s has been honoring the classic American steakhouse tradition in Montecito since 2000. Lucky's occupies a building complex originally constructed as the Montecito Bungalows back in 1926 when Coast Village Road was part of Highway 1, the original Pacific Coast Highway. A variety of individuals and businesses would occupy this complex as the old Coast Highway was eventually replaced by US101 as the main artery of California travel and commerce.
LUCKY’S: Montecito’s second living room.
